Welcome to Ray's page |
Ray Tullock Ray was born to Vera & Kenneth Tullock, in Hull on the 29th July 1956. He is the second eldest of 5 children, 4 boys & 1 girl. He was educated at Park Road Primary School, and moved onto Middleton Street Secondary. At the tender age of 10 and a bit he was one of the first pupils to attend Sir Henry Cooper High School. He left this fine establishment with a bundle of GCE 'O' Level, and CSE passes under his belt. His first venture into the world of work began with an interview for a position in a mens clothes shop. After all those years of devoted study, and intense cramming for exams, he was pleased to learn that he had secured the post purely because: HE WAS THE ONLY CANDIDATE TO ATTEND THE INTERVIEW IN A SUIT & TIE!!!!!! A short career of 4 years saw him rise through the ranks to the heights of store manager, before a disagreement with his employers left him seeking alternative career choices, but not before meeting his future wife, Jean Metters, who always ensured he got the best sandwiches at the bakery where she worked. His next job took the form of a Van Delivery Driver for an Electrical Wholesalers. This lasted until he was offered the chance to earn better money working with his fiancées brother at a fibreglass factory. He stayed with this company for 18 years, at which point he was Senior Supervisor at the Beverley factory, until the company sold out to a rival plastics company who proceeded to close the Beverley site, and put Ray out of work. He took a short term position with a local sign maker, before moving on to another post with a Fibreglass Manufacturer in Castleford. Ray began as a Foreman/Supervisor of a factory unit at North Cave near Hull, and progressed to running production for 3 factories from the head office at South Kirkby. He left to take a position with a local Hull Fibreglass company in July 1999. He is still currentlythe Works Manager of a 2 unit factory with the same company. Ray is the proud father of Andrew & Amy, and the husband of Jean.
