Jean Tullock

Jean Tullock (nee Metters)

Jean was born in Hull on 20th September 1958, as one of a pair of twins. Despite her twin brother being healthy, Jeans condition caused some concern. Weighing less than 2lbs (950 grms), she was kept in an incubator for a short while. She later found out that while she was in hospital, her family moved. Luckily they still came back for her. One of 7 children (3 girls, 4 boys), Jean was never short of companions and was always popular at school. Her father worked for the local council and always ensured that the family was provided for (no mean feat with 7 kids). They may never claim to have been a wealthy family, but the house was always full of laughter & love. Jean attended 5th Avenue Primary School before moving onto Sir Henry Cooper High School. While in her final years, she began a Part time job on a Saturday at a Bakery. Upon leaving school this became a full time position. It was here that Jean met her future husband, Ray.

Jean & Ray married on the 24th May 1980, at St Johns Church in Hull. After more than 33 years of happy marriage (at the time of writing, December 2013), they are now the proud parents of Andrew & Amy.
